Nicole Rawson Final Poster

This is my final poster design for our film, included in this poster i have tried to incorporate all the elements needed to  portray our films theme across to the audience. Our film was based loosely on a fairy tale so it was important to look at previous examples of fairy tale posters to help inspire my designs. what i noticed about all these posters was that they had an air of mystery about them either in the form of flares used to look like magic and glitter or swirly text to represent the style of the film  Using this knowledge i decided to use a custom font for my poster. What i like about the font for the title is that it reflects the name well,  this is because it is made up of thousands of shards of glass in reference to the The Last Shards. When reading this title and seeing the way it is reflected in the typography the audience should be able to link the idea that not everything is quite right with our film and perhaps what they will see is the last moments of our lead character before everything falls apart that. In the hope of emphasizing this i have taken a picture of Becky and applied several image manipulations to make it look like the face has been distressed and peeling away. Although i like my poster i do think i can be improved as to some people it may appear more like a horror film poster due to all of the dark colours used. To ensure my poster looked genuine and like other film posters i have used a basic template of the name of the lead characters across the top and any additional information such as directors and producers along the bottom, Hopefully by doing this it makes the poser look more professional and adds all the required information needed. The second image on this post shows my poster super imposed on a bus shelter this is to help give an idea of how the film poster might look in the real world from this image i can clearly see that it works and stands out However i do feel like some of the information such as the release date and lead character should be made bigger so they stand out more.
