This you tube vidio has been placed on our blog to show the type of music we will be looking for to use as the backing track to out title credits. The music featured on this clip is not he one that we will definitely use for our movie but it is used as a reference resource to beck who will be the one deciding on the final music as she is editing our film. What me and jake like about this music was that it had a upbeat type of melody that potentially the audience could get into and start tapping along with the beat engaging them more in the action they where seeing on screen.

Title credits
This Youtube video features the initial title credits i have created for the opening of our film. The sequence was created in Adobe after effects and took around two hours to complete. At present several changes will need too be made to the sequence before we can use it in our film. Examples of witch include the use of new and better pictures for the title characters this is because the images used where the only ones available to me during editing, instead i will use screenshots from the film if possible, another change is that the background image needs changing to make the book stand out more. Finally text needs to be improved to a new font and some of the backgrounds behind the photos could be better. The overall page turning of the book is very tying with the fairytale theme and works very well.

Final Animated Logo
This Youtube video shows the finished and final animated logo for our five minuet film. Created on cinema 4D the background music may be altered when it is placed into our final film. The logo was created by me and with the help of another student from a different class. I really like the way how this animation has turned out as it helps make our film more visually engaging and shows an improvement on the quality of our work from last year. When i designed the animations for this logo i had to remember that it couldn't last too long as we only had a short time frame to create a whole film in. The length of this sequence i feel is just about right as it gives the audience just enough time to read the company name remember the logo.

Nicole: Title sequence analysis (unfinished)
This post includes my individual analysis of a title
sequence of a film and the opinions I have on it. Described are the things that
I think worked particularly well for this opening sequence along with things
that didn't work quite as well. I have chosen to analyse a title sequence as it
will help give our group some ideas and inspiration that we could possibly use
in our film. For my title Sequence I
chose to look at the film Enchanted. A classic
Disney movie with a contemporary twist Enchanted is Part animation, part live
action, combining elements of the archetypal Hollywood fairy tale with the
popular romantic comedy genre. When a sweet and naive princess from an animated
world is forced through an inter-dimensional portal by an evil queen, she ends
up in the real world, in New York city. There are many reasons why I chose this
film for my analysis, firstly it is a film that I have already seen before and
know the story line, and secondly the genre of the film I similar to what our
group would like to recreate.
The main aims of the
title sequence in a film are to gage the audience attention and display any
important information such as directors, producers, distributors and actors. This
opening sequence is very much along the fairy tale theme featuring images and text
usually associated with movies of this type. An example of this is the very first
image the audience sees on screen, featuring a closing book this classic animation
can be seen in both classics such as Cinderella and modern tales like Shrek. This
would be a good idea for us to use for our film as straight away it helps tell
the audience what to expect from our short film. The colours and composition of
this shot are critical to its message that it is trying to get across to the
audience. The book is shot both from a high angle and it is framed dead centre
in the middle of the shot highlighting its importance. The zoom out initially draws
the views attention to the title of the film and establishes the scene location
before the zoom in pulls the audience in further.
The first name to appear on the book is the director Kevin Lima,
whose name becomes visible via an animated font. The typography of this design
once again links back to the fairy tale theme as the floral and swirly text is
more easily linked with fantasy and fictional stories. Throughout this sequence
panning shots are continually used to show transitions between names, what I particularly
like about this editing is the way the graphics of the sequence carry the
audience smoothly through the information displayed. Overall the editing of this sequence is very
slow paced and timed perfectly to the background music. The only sound used in
this sequence is a non-diegetic backing track and is very much like other things in the titles associated
with the fairy tale genre . Throughout
the opening sequence lots of visual aids that are associated with this genre
are used creating lots of visual interest for the audience making it a perfect
template for our film. One issue I would
have with the graphics however is that both the colours and designs used are
very feminine possibly limiting the potential viewing audience.

Smokin' Aces Title sequence
In the first few seconds of the sequence we see a close up image of a man which has an overlapped effect which makes the picture seem like something from a comic book with the weird texture of his face.
The image then becomes bigger and turns red and goes to an image of the man staring out of a window, the image goes bright red and then you see 'UNIVERSAL PICTURES PRESENT' in a bright white, bold text all in capitals. This looks very eye catchy as the white text stands out from the image.
The image then changes to a purple image of a man in the distance and the quickly changes to a black image with a yellow/green face at the right side which could symbolise illness which refers to the films drug based story. The text is once again white which stands out from the black background 'IN ASSOCCIATION STUDIOCANAL AND RELATIVITY MEDIA'

The next relavant image is a red image of the same male from the other images with a picture of a card which links to the title 'Smokin' Aces' which I think is smart but also it had to be in there with a title as specific as 'Smokin' Aces' which needs a reference to poker cards.
This image changes from a red picture of a road from the distance into a more realistic image which shows traffic passing by, which looks quite cool, but could also be symbolic to reality which some of the characters have to face.
The next clip goes to black for about half a second with the white text showing, then the black background slowly turns blue which reveals a picture of a man in a suit looking over a man possibly in some pain. The darkness of the background makes the text seem really bright and makes it stand out for easy readability.
The next image is one of the protagonists shown smoking with the actors name in white next to his reddened face, the red could symbolise death and violence and gore

Focus edits Required
This clip within our first piece of film needs to be shot again because Becky's face is out of focus where as Nicole's head is in focus. When we film this close-up again we will zoom in on Becky's eye, focus the camera and then zoom back out to keep the focus in the correct place.
This clip also has to be shot again as the focus needs to be lined up on the right side of the shot where myself and Nicole are, as at the moment the focus is on Becky. If we do not decide to do a similar clip, we will have a different camera angle where Nicole is shown walking back around the bench and walking off backwards until she confronts me, all this will be shown along with Becky in the shot out of focus until I approach her.
In this clip the focus needs to move from the right, back to Becky rather than the focus just being on me and Nicole to give a clearer view of Becky and also show that Nicole has left the scene.

Sixth Sense End Scene
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qj0JDnQIZf0
This is the link to the end scene of the Sixth Sense. At the end, the main character, Malcolm, realises he's been dead all along and the event of his death is fully revealed to the audience. Although he was shot and our character will be stabbed, he's laid down and the camera zooms out to establish the scene. When his wife turns him over, his back is covered in blood form the exist wound. This effect will be on the front of the character and when our character falls to the floor, they will be laid on their back. The zoom-out establishing shot is good for dramatic effect and establishing.
