Mis-en-scene

Props:
- Knife: Chez
- Book: Ava
- Mobile phone: Ava
- 3D glasses: Ava

Costumes
- Ella: Plain clothes, but classy: She is Ava's sister but isn't meant to look as plain as Ava; agin, she must blend in
- Seth: Up to date, expensive fashionable clothing: This is to make the audience believe that Ava believes she will never be with him due to the contrast in wealth and her discouragement from the bullies
- Ava: Plain clothing, t-shirt, but quite classy: Not scruffy like Cinderella, but realisticly plain for her age.
- Chez: Tracksuit, gelled down hair and cap: To portray the antagonist, what teenagers today picture this as are chavs who are commonly involved in crime and bad activities, therefore Chez must dress in chav attire.
- Mum: Same as Ava
- Bullies: Very up to date and fashionable: This uis to show how materialistic and shallow they are, liken the ugly stepsisters in original Cinderella stories.

Settings
- Kitchen: Chez scene with the knife
- Bedroom: Ava's scene at the beginning and with her mum conversation
- Outdoor bench: The flashback where Ella, Chez and Seth are introduced
-  Living room: Where the party is held
- Door step: Where Ava is greeted to the party

Lighting
- Dimmed lights with cheap little disco ball for the house party to create a not only party, but negative ambiance to foreshadow bad things.
- Out side bench scene in cloudy day light, not particularly cold but grey to symbolise that he girls are normal, don't need materialistic things, just each other.
- Bedroom scene, dark room but light shining through window to symbolise that Ava is trapped but there is a chance and hope of happiness.
- Chez's kitchen; dark and mysterious, the lights turned off to symbolise he is a bad character but also mysterious, which makes him seem even more dangerous. Natural light coming through window to show the knife.

Make-up
- Bullies: heavy make-up: this is to represent the characters of the ugly sisters; they're not meant to appear naturally beautiful, and heavy make-up will achieve this look
- Ella: Pretty, normal make-up for teens of today: This character is supposed to blend in and look like most people her age; she is a Button's character; a plain character who still impacts on the story
- Ava 1: No make-up at all, flawless skina nd mascara (must look natural!)
- Ava 2: Simple but dramatic make-up to make her look nice but different from her former self, like when Cinderella goes to the ball unrecognised
- Mum: The mum has to resemble Ava in most ways, as she is the fairy godmother of the story. The audience must eb able to believe that she empathises with Ava, therefore making them similar characters in mis-en-scen will achieve this.
