Our research is based on viral ads for films. They are distributed throughout the world using trailers, tv adverts, teaser trailers and behind the scene interviews.
Viral marketing is the act of promoting information or products that other customers are compelled to give to other friends, colleagues and family. In the old days, this was known as "word of mouth" marketing. Today, the Internet viral marketing provides a number of ways to engage in word or mouth marketing efficiently at a potentially very low cost.
This can be achieved by sending advertisements to people's e-mail inboxes, websites, fax or social networking sites such as twitter or Facebook. Youtube is the biggest viral marketing website, as people can send the videos via e-mail, internet websites or post it on Facebook. Facebook and Youtube are the most new and popular way of doing viral advertisements.
This is a popular viral ad for the Cadbury's advert as it is unique and would be easily recognised and is a good example of a viral ad that is passed on through social networking sites and e-mail.
