Production company logo research

As part of our project we had to design a production companies logo,all of the screenshots below are examples of existing logos for original companies that i have researched  for inspiration along with comments about what i like and dislike about the logos. 


Three leaves

The first logo i have looked at is for a company called three leaves productions. What i like about this logo is its simplicity and use of pictures to tie the name and graphics together. This would be a good technique to use for our logo, however due to the fact of what we have called our company this maybe a little hard. Another thing i like about this logo is its use of colour this helps make the logo stand out and become more memorable. 



Legendary pictures 

Like the three leaves logo this company has used its name to inspire the pictures on this logo using the celtic style pattern to portray an old appearance associated with stories and legends. Because this is an older company the logo appears to be more dated than other logos i have looked at. For our company i dont think it would be suitable to go for such a historical looking logo as it directly contradicts the companies name as the word progression basically means ' moving toward the future' not the past.

Miramax 

unlike previous logos i have looked at this one features no images what so ever in its design and although it helps make the logo memorable as it features little visual requirement i do find that is also boring to look. One feature that i would pick out from this logo is its use of two type faces in its design, something which we could look at doing when we produce ours as a group.  




Revolution Pictures 

Like our company revolution pictures features a name that is hard to associate with a image therefor i think this is a good example of a logo to look at. What this company has chosen to do instead is create a logo that is memorable and unique by its use of fonts and colours. To me this seems as if it would the best direction for our group to go in as it is the most appropriate. 






Bison

i chose to include this logo in my research as it is one of my favorites. What i like about this logo is that it uses typography to crate both the name and graphic image for the company. This is a very good technique to use and in the case of this logo i think work's very well, if possible i think it would be good to use a similar idea in our logo even if it was just replacing one letter with a picture instead of the whole word.
